Abide With Me
This modern arrangement of 'Abide With Me' was made soon after the passing of the British choral master and arranger David Wilcock and is therefore dedicated to him. The first verse is given to a soloist (possibly offstage) before the first sopranos enter with the second verse accompanied by cloud-like harmonies provided by the second sopranos and altos. The third verse is set for the tenors with further building of sound leading to a more traditional setting for the final verses. The last verse includes a new descant for the sopranos.
This arrangement is suitable for a moderate to advanced level choir, and the audience or congregation can join in with the last verse.. The arrangement was orchestrated in September 2018 Flute 1.2. Oboe 1.2. Clarinet 1.2. Bassoon 1.2. Horn 1.2. Trumpet 1.2.3. Trombone 1.2. Tuba Timpani Crash Cymbals Choir [SSAATB] Strings |
