All I Have is Memories

All I have is Memories'All I Have is Memories' was written in 1996 as an exercise in pop-ballad pastiche. Charlotte White sung the first performance in a concert at the. The piece is very straightforward both harmonically and melodically and contains a 'cheesy' modulation towards the end.

The Lyrics:

Verse 1:
Our times were great together you made me happy as I could be, my heart filled with warmth when you first smiled at me. As time past us by our love grew and grew and I knew the only one for me was you.

Chorus:
But all I have is memories though I still know that you're here with me, so why do I feel lonely, oh, as lonely as can be.
But I have our memories that no-one can take away.
We will be back together some day.

Verse 2:
You made me feel whole with every loving embrace: the warmth of your hand and the touch of your face. Fate brought us together, we were meant to be, which is why this time is hard for both you and me.

Chorus:
But we have our memories and I still know that you're here with me, so why do I feel lonely, oh, as lonely as can be.
But I have our memories that no-one can take away.
We will be back together some day.

Bridge:
You're not that far away I could pick up the phone but the sound of your voice would make me feel more alone.
When I look up at the sky I know we share the same moon and that our love will last forever and you'll be mine soon.

Chorus:
For now I have our memories and I still know that you're here with me, so why do I feel lonely, oh, as lonely as can be.
But I have our memories that no-one can take away.
We will be back together some day.
All I have is memories and I still know that you're there some day. We will be back together some day.
