Ragtime

The first section of Ragtime was written on the 8th September 1998. The piece then remained as a sketch for the next eight years. The rest of the piece was completed in March 2006. The piece was always intented for young people to play who are learning their instruments (around Grades 2-3) and fancy learning something fun. The 1998 manuscript shows a clarinet rather than an oboe, but after transposition, the parts are interchangable.

Instrumentation:

Flute
Oboe/Clarinet
Piano

The recording above is an extract from a concert given by Emma Grimsey & Hannah Lewin at St. Mary's Church Slough.
