Wayward Edges

Wayward Edges

for Violin and Cello

Written for Darragh Morgan, violin, Robin Michael,

The title Wayward Edges comes from two concepts explored by the piece – ‘fickleness’, and jagged or rough edges.  The music is constructed in such a way that motifs and musical ideas fly by and constantly change as if the piece is unable to settle into one idea.  The central section provides some respite before the jagged rhythms return.
